Our religious school offers a full curriculum from Pre-school through 12th Grade.
Rabbi Shira Stern, D Min, our Primary School Educator, has served as a pulpit rabbi for 13 years and as an educator for over 25 years. Her focus is to create a parent-teacher-educator collaborative effort to enhance Judaism for the students of Temple Rodeph Torah. Jewish history, prayer, customs, and creative arts are part of the overall curriculum. Prior to joining the TRT team, Rabbi Stern was formerly the Rabbi and Educator at Monroe Township Jewish Center. She has also been involved with hospital and hospice chaplaincy, worked for Mazon, A Jewish Response to hunger, and taught at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In addition, she is the Director for the Center for Pastoral Care and Counseling in Marlboro, NJ.
We have created a substantive program for each grade, Pre-school through 7th, building Hebrew and prayer proficiency, familiarity with Jewish customs, as well as knowledge of Israeli history, geography and culture. To reinforce these critical subjects, we offer an enrichment curriculum in addition to one-day per week of religious school for grades 5-7, above and beyond the Bar/Bat Mitzvah training beginning six months before their ceremony. Our commitment to excellence shows in the quality of the students we graduate and their life-long commitment to Jewish values and tradition.
With so much to teach and to learn, up to two days a week, 30 weeks a year is barely enough.
