8th through 12th graders are invited to join RTSY, or Rodeph Torah Senior Youth. RTSY members form lifelong bonds through social events, community service, shul-ins (overnights at the temple), leading a Shabbat service each spring, planning and operating the annual TRT Purim Carnival, and activities with national Reform youth movement, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth).

A new youth progams initiative has been put into place this year with membership. Youths MUST become a member of their youth group when they attend their second event of the year.

TRT's annual Purim Carnival is coming up!!! On Saturday, March 11th from 9-11pm (after the Purim Schpiel) we will be starting to set up for the Carnival. Register to help at the Purim Carnival Set-up. We need everyone's help to get the Purim Carnival ready for the children on Sunday. We will be playing a movie while we work!
On Sunday, March 12th will be the Purim Carnival (carnival is from 12~2pm), 10am-~3pm for RTSY teens!! We will begin set up (to finish organizing the carnival) starting at 10am. The Hebrew School will be dismissing from an assembly in the sanctuary so all helpers will need to be at temple, ready, at 11:15am. Please register to volunteer and come in costume!!! Anyone who volunteers for set up or clean up, must be there for the Carnival!
All hours worked (set-up & carnival) can be used for volunteer/Community Service hours!! An event flyer will come out soon!
NFTY-GER- (8-12th graders) NFTY-GER Spring Kallah is April 21-23rd at URJ Kutz Camp in Warwick, NY. There will be a bus from TRT. Early bird registration cost $255 and ends on March 1st , regular registration is $280 until March 29th. This is a very special event because 8th graders are invited into the NFTY-GER community as we also wish our seniors good luck in the future.

TRT's Rock Shabbat Fundraising Concert with Dan Nichols! Sunday, March 5th at 5pm. You have have all heard music during services at TRT. Dan's music is so infused into our daily worship. For our teens, Dan's music is the heartbeat of song sessions at NFTY events. Dan has mellow and upbeat songs. You will want to get up and dance! Children/teens aged 6-18 are $5, adults are $18. Volunteer to aide at Jr RTSY (grades 5-7) and Chaverim (grades 2-4) - Please sign up to volunteer here. Teens are responsible for the dates that they volunteer for. If they are unable to help at an event already selected, they need to reach out to the advisor of the youth group. To volunteer at Jr RTSY, teens need to be in 9th-12th grade. Volunteers for Chaverim can be in 8-12th grade.
It has all of the Chaverim (grades 2-4), Jr RTSY (grades 5-7), RTSY (Grades 8-12), and regional NFTY-GER (grades 9-12 with 8th grade being invited at the end of the year) events. Dates/events for are subject to change.
Scholarships may be available through the NFTY-GER Scholarship Fund. Should you need any assistance, please apply through NFTY-GER during EARLY BIRD registration for each event that you may need help with.
Need-based subsidies may be available from the temple and the Jewish Federation.
